The opportunity timeline

• Overview

Airbnb is hiring a Web Designer in Dearborn, MI.

• Role description

We're hiring a Web Designer for the unglamorous, essential work of making Kafka fast enough that nobody notices it at all. This Dearborn opening trades 1 years and Unit Testing for $49,000 - $72,000, then layers on the ownership most listings only hint at.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Spot the client-focused Cypress anti-pattern in review before it spreads through Airbnb
  • Partner with QA to define test coverage and catch regressions early
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and Attention Management libraries
  • Sketch Elasticsearch sequence diagrams that make the technology flow obvious to everyone
  • Decide when to buy Unit Testing versus build it for Airbnb's Dearborn, MI stack

  What You'll Bring

  • Willingness to commute to Dearborn, MI or work flexibly as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Real TypeScript chops, plus the Cypress curiosity to keep growing
  • Familiarity with Airbnb-scale workflows, or the appetite to reach them
  • Solid understanding of technology best practices and industry standards
  • Comfort steering technology conversations toward a decision

Out of a converted warehouse in Dearborn, Airbnb has quietly grown into a community-minded force shaping how technology gets done. The unwritten rule in Dearborn is simple: leave the codebase kinder than you found it.

We back our team with $49,000 - $72,000, equity, top-tier health benefits, and the flexibility to work where you do your best thinking.
