The opportunity timeline

• Overview

Bed Bath & Beyond is hiring a Unreal Developer in Fairbanks, AK.

• Role description

We are hiring an Unreal Developer who can balance speed and stability while shipping software used by millions. Think $95,000 - $124,000, think internship hours, think 4 years of Unit Testing turning into ownership you can actually feel at Bed Bath & Beyond.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain reliable backend services using Terraform and Microsoft Azure
  • Trace a feedback-driven technology bug across three Strategic Planning services to the one bad line
  • Walk technology stakeholders through Unit Testing tradeoffs in language Bed Bath & Beyond execs grasp
  • Configure and manage infrastructure as code across staging and production
  • Own the mid-level Kubernetes workstream that unblocks the rest of Bed Bath & Beyond's Fairbanks, AK roadmap
  • Own a technology service end to end, from Microsoft Azure schema to on-call rotation

  What You'll Bring

  • A communication style that translates jargon back into plain English
  • Comfort presenting to an AK-wide audience without a script
  • A portfolio that speaks louder than any line on your resume
  • An AK work history, or strong reasons you'll thrive here anyway
  • The humility to revise strong opinions when the data argues back
  • Mid-level fluency in Django, with Unit Testing on your roadmap

The reputation Bed Bath & Beyond enjoys across AK wasn't bought; the mentorship-focused Fairbanks team earned it one technology project at a time. At Bed Bath & Beyond feedback has a short half-life, delivered close to the moment it can still help.

What we put on the table: $95,000 - $124,000, coaching for your Microsoft Azure, benefits worth having, and freedom to grow at your own pace.
