The opportunity timeline

• Overview

InnovateLab is hiring a Software Engineer in Joliet, IL.

• Role description

InnovateLab is looking for a junior Software Engineer who can turn people-first ideas about Docker into something a customer never has to think about. We're looking for 1+ years of REST API; in return you'll get $57,000 - $86,000, ownership, and a team worth joining.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate Google Cloud tradeoffs with product when InnovateLab timelines and reality collide
  • Tune Google Cloud caching so InnovateLab survives the Joliet launch spike on the same hardware
  • Containerize applications and manage deployments with Collaboration and REST API
  • Profile and refactor legacy code to reduce technical debt over time
  • Spot the heads-down-and-happy Docker anti-pattern in review before it spreads through InnovateLab
  • Drive adoption of best practices in testing, security, and observability

  What You'll Bring

  • Experience thriving in a values-led, deadline-driven setting like InnovateLab
  • A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for teamwork
  • 1 years of learning when to trust the process and when to break it
  • Comfortable presenting ideas to stakeholders at every level

The team at InnovateLab is small, calmly-fast-moving, and entirely convinced that Joliet is the best place to reinvent technology. We believe great Change Management work comes from people who feel safe to experiment and occasionally fail.

Your offer at InnovateLab: $57,000 - $86,000, a mentor, generous benefits, and the Joliet, IL flexibility to grow on your own clock.
