The opportunity timeline

• Overview

Cisco is hiring a Ruby Developer in El Paso, TX.

• Role description

We're hiring a Ruby Developer for the unglamorous, essential work of making Networking fast enough that nobody notices it at all. What Cisco is really offering: $50,000 - $75,000 for 1 years of Jest, plus growth that does not stall at the door.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the AWS incident postmortem that stops the El Paso outage from recurring
  • Translate technology compliance rules into Unit Testing guardrails baked into the build
  • Coordinate releases with stakeholders across El Paso, TX and remote teams
  • Own the full lifecycle of technology systems from prototype to production
  • Own a technology service end to end, from Goal Setting schema to on-call rotation

  What You'll Bring

  • A portfolio or work samples that demonstrate your technology expertise
  • Customer-focused outlook with strong interpersonal skills
  • A Cisco mindset: scrappy today, scalable tomorrow
  • A communicator who can disagree without making it personal
  • A collaborator who makes the junior review feel less like an exam
  • Confident communicator across email, calls, and in-person meetings
  • Knowledge of TX-specific regulations relevant to technology work

Built in El Paso and run on caffeine and conviction, Cisco turns messy technology problems into clean, repeatable wins. Psychological safety is something we actively build, so disagreeing in good faith is encouraged.

Beyond the $50,000 - $75,000 base, Cisco invests in your growth through paid certifications, conferences, and dedicated learning time.
