The opportunity timeline

• Overview

TC Energy is hiring a Game Developer in Grand Junction, CO.

• Role description

This freelance Game Developer seat at TC Energy pays $83,000 - $115,000 and comes with a backlog of genuinely interesting technology problems. Look past the title and you'll see $83,000 - $115,000, a CO base, and a mid-level role that asks you to lead, not just execute.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Keep TC Energy's Docker CI under ten minutes so Grand Junction, CO engineers stay in flow
  • Document the Networking system so the next mid-level engineer onboards in days, not weeks
  • Translate the maker-minded Google Cloud outage into fixes that make the next Grand Junction launch dull
  • Pair-program tricky React edge cases with engineers across Grand Junction, CO
  • Profile and refactor legacy code to reduce technical debt over time
  • Turn vague technology tickets into crisp, testable Networking acceptance criteria
  • Tune .NET Core caching so TC Energy survives the Grand Junction launch spike on the same hardware
  • Ship the .NET Core autonomy-rich rewrite that pays down years of TC Energy technical debt

  What You'll Bring

  • An agile bias toward action, balanced by knowing when to wait
  • Cross-functional ease, from Rust engineers to Webpack marketers
  • Solid understanding of technology best practices and industry standards
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy
  • Calm under the proudly-imperfect chaos a mid-level role tends to generate

Plenty of firms claim to do technology; TC Energy actually does it, and from Grand Junction no less, with a delightfully-weird stubbornness about quality. Respect for your craft and your life outside it sits at the core of how TC Energy operates.

In return for your Cultural Awareness expertise, you'll earn $83,000 - $115,000 along with 401(k) matching and flexible remote options.

Interviews for Grand Junction, CO candidates are being booked throughout the month.
