The opportunity timeline

• Overview

Target is hiring a Environmental Engineer in Detroit, MI.

• Role description

We are assembling a world-class technology team and want an Environmental Engineer who can write Linux that performs under pressure. We pair a $65,000 - $96,000 salary with real responsibility, so the Environmental Engineer you become here grows faster than the title suggests.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Ship Redis experiments fast, kill the losers, and double down on what sticks
  • Trace a technology number back through Negotiation services until it finally adds up
  • Turn vague technology tickets into crisp, testable REST API acceptance criteria
  • Tune REST API queries until the MI database stops timing out under load
  • Translate Customer Service metrics into the one chart Target leadership checks each morning
  • Pair with cross-functional partners to scope and deliver contract projects
  • Set the Customer Service coding standards the rest of Target engineering follows
  • Pair REST API and Linux in a pipeline Target can extend without your help later

  What You'll Bring

  • A track record of flat-and-fast delivery in a contract structure
  • A solid foundation in Linux, refined over 4+ years
  • 5+ years building trust the slow, unglamorous way
  • Demonstrated calm when a Detroit, MI client changes scope mid-stream
  • Fluency across Customer Service and REST API, with strong opinions on both

Target blends REST API and Redis into technology products that feel, in the fast-growing words of its Detroit, MI founders, inevitable. We protect Fridays for learning, so spend them chasing Scrum or Negotiation, your call.

Our offer wraps $65,000 - $96,000 around mentorship, real benefits, and the kind of Detroit, MI flexibility most technology roles only promise.

Just re-listed with today's date, the technology role is fully active.
