The opportunity timeline

• Overview

Universal Studios is hiring a Data Scientist in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

• Role description

We're opening a freelance Data Scientist role for an engineer fluent in Excel and allergic to undocumented surprises. Lean on 5+ years of technology expertise to own projects, collaborate with a sharp team, and earn $108,000 - $156,000.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Pull Universal Studios's Seaborn stack out of the FL region before the migration deadline
  • Lead A/B Testing design reviews that catch the costly mistakes before Fort Lauderdale, FL builds them
  • Optimize application performance, latency, and resource utilization at scale
  • Identify bottlenecks and propose architectural improvements proactively
  • Chase down the Prioritization integration that silently drops Universal Studios events at midnight

  What You'll Bring

  • Strong rapport-building skills and a genuinely positive presence
  • Fluency across Tableau and Clustering, with strong opinions on both
  • The reflex to surface risk before it surfaces itself
  • Resilience measured across 7 years of technology cycles
  • Storytelling instincts that turn data into a decision
  • Willingness to relocate to Fort Lauderdale, FL, or to make remote work
  • A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for teamwork

For all its sharp-but-gentle ambition, Universal Studios still operates like the scrappy Fort Lauderdale startup that first cracked technology years ago. Our Fort Lauderdale office prizes the quiet contributor who makes everyone around them measurably better.

The package is honest: $108,000 - $156,000, a benefits plan that works, mentorship that lasts, and the flexibility to live in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

We re-validated this opening today; Universal Studios is still on the lookout.

We built this technology team on people who said yes, so say yes and apply.
