The opportunity timeline

• Overview

3M is hiring a Cloud Engineer in Post Falls, ID.

• Role description

We don't need a Cloud Engineer who knows everything about Decision Making; we need one curious enough to find out what they don't. Few technology roles let you own the whole thing end to end; this mid-level one in Post Falls does, and it pays $74,000 - $110,000.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Translate Infrastructure as Code metrics into the one chart 3M leadership checks each morning
  • Question the refreshingly-candid Decision Making pattern everyone copied and propose something cleaner
  • Write the Kubernetes integration tests that catch regressions before Post Falls, ID ships them
  • Bridge Serverless and Service Mesh so the two halves of 3M's platform finally talk
  • Set the Customer Service coding standards the rest of 3M engineering follows
  • Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and technology roadmap discussions
  • Monitor system health and set up alerting for mentorship-focused production environments

  What You'll Bring

  • Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a tight-knit team
  • Demonstrated Serverless expertise in a fast-moving technology environment
  • 5+ years building trust the slow, unglamorous way
  • Comfort owning technology decisions in an ID market
  • The kind of ownership that treats the company's money like your own

Founded in Post Falls, ID during a downturn, 3M grew builder-led and lean while flashier technology rivals burned out. New hires ship something real in week one, because we'd rather you learn by doing.

We offer a competitive salary of $74,000 - $110,000, comprehensive health coverage, and a clear path to grow into senior technology work.
