The opportunity timeline

• Overview

DigitalCore is hiring a Civil Engineer in Houston, TX.

• Role description

Our Civil Engineer role rewards the hands-on habit of writing the test before you trust the feature, especially around Work Ethic. Picture $88,000 - $120,000, a freelance cadence, and 4 years of Rust translating into a mid-level seat you actually steer at DigitalCore.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Automate the manual Work Ethic chores that quietly drain Houston, TX engineering hours
  • Question the high-growth Vue.js pattern everyone copied and propose something cleaner
  • Investigate, diagnose, and fix bugs reported by users and monitoring tools
  • Drive the Collaboration incident postmortem that stops the Houston outage from recurring
  • Partner with QA to define test coverage and catch regressions early
  • Replace the brittle Vue.js hack with an Agile solution that survives Houston scale
  • Support migration of on-premise services to cloud-native architecture

  What You'll Bring

  • The grit to debug at 4pm on a Friday without complaint
  • The kind of curiosity that reads the docs before asking
  • Meticulous attention to detail across every deliverable
  • Prior experience working on-site in Houston, TX, or willingness to relocate
  • Cross-functional ease, from Work Ethic engineers to Vue.js marketers
  • Adaptability and resilience when facing shifting requirements

Ask anyone in Houston about DigitalCore and you'll hear the same thing: a make-it-better crew that ships fast and sweats the Vue.js details. A mid-level title opens doors here, but earning real trust is what keeps them open.

The whole offer in one line: $88,000 - $120,000, mentorship, benefits, and flexible freelance hours that respect the life you have in TX.

This posting reflects an open need we are working to close this quarter.
