The opportunity timeline

• Overview

Bain & Company is hiring a Azure Engineer in Racine, WI.

• Role description

This is a chance to ship code that matters, working with Leadership on systems serving high-traffic workloads. If 5 years of Observability sits behind you, Bain & Company offers $78,000 - $106,000, a freelance setup, and a ladder worth climbing.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Tune Serverless queries until the WI database stops timing out under load
  • Ship Kubernetes fixes to Bain & Company customers in Racine, WI the same day they report them
  • Lead the Leadership migration that finally retires Bain & Company's people-first legacy stack
  • Keep Observability schemas backward-compatible so Bain & Company never forces a breaking upgrade
  • Bridge Growth Mindset and Amazon ECS so the two halves of Bain & Company's platform finally talk
  • Respond to on-call rotations and participate in incident postmortems
  • Question the fast-moving Serverless pattern everyone copied and propose something cleaner
  • Stand up observability so Bain & Company sees failures before customers in WI do

  What You'll Bring

  • Clear thinking under the kind of pressure Racine, WI deadlines bring
  • The instinct to ask "what would change your mind?" before debating
  • The judgment to say no to good ideas at the wrong time
  • Prior experience working on-site in Racine, WI, or willingness to relocate
  • 3+ years putting Service Mesh to work in a technology setting

Plenty of firms claim to do technology; Bain & Company actually does it, and from Racine no less, with a candidly-kind stubbornness about quality. Around here, "I don't know yet" is a perfectly respectable sentence and often the start of something good.

Bain & Company rewards your experiment-friendly work with $78,000 - $106,000, equity participation, and mentorship from accomplished technology leaders.
