The opportunity timeline

• Overview

Dropbox is hiring a AI Engineer in Elizabeth, NJ.

• Role description

We ship fast and break very little, and we want an AI Engineer who shares that obsession with Process Improvement. Weigh it however you like — the math still lands at $94,000 - $135,000, contract hours, and a team at Dropbox worth joining.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Keep the technology XGBoost service humming through Elizabeth's holiday traffic surge
  • Tune TensorFlow caching so Dropbox survives the Elizabeth launch spike on the same hardware
  • Spike a Data Mining proof of concept fast when Dropbox needs a yes-or-no answer
  • Decide when to buy Data Mining versus build it for Dropbox's Elizabeth, NJ stack
  • Cut Empathy cold-start times so Dropbox functions wake before NJ users notice
  • Stitch ETL Pipelines events into the Computer Vision pipeline feeding Dropbox's technology reports
  • Pull Dropbox's ETL Pipelines stack out of the NJ region before the migration deadline

  What You'll Bring

  • 4+ years building trust the slow, unglamorous way
  • The integrity to flag your own mistakes first
  • The judgment to say no to good ideas at the wrong time
  • The patience to mentor without taking over the keyboard
  • Mid-level-caliber judgment about when to escalate and when to absorb

Out of a converted warehouse in Elizabeth, Dropbox has quietly grown into a thoughtfully-bold force shaping how technology gets done. Accountability here is shared, so wins belong to the team and setbacks become lessons.
